But when Luke sees a glimpse of a face in a neighbors window, he discovers that he is not alone, and his life is changed forever.
Mom's rating: 5.0 wands Mom's Review:Among the Hidden is a mesmerizing story of a battle against government repression, in the tradition of classic futuristic stories like 1984. Luke is an unlikely hero; his whole life he has been taught to hide and he doesnt know anything else. But behind the frightened exterior is an unexpected reservoir of courage, a courage that is all the more poignant because Luke must learn to tap into it in spite of his fears. The characters are well developed, and the reader feels Lukes pain as he struggles to make sense of his world and discover his place in it. The book is probably too intense for younger readers or anyone sensitive to pain and death. But older children and adults will find that they cant put the book down.
