Violet, Klaus and Sunny find themselves working as concierges at the Hotel Denouement, trying to identify the villians from the volunteers. But telling the good from the bad turns out to be more difficult than the Baudelaires anticipated, and the three children begin to doubt even themselves.

Mom's Review:

This is by far the best book of the series so far. The author's keen wit, evident in all the books, has been honed here to a fine point. It's fun and funny, and there are many surprises and unexpected twists. But beyond that, it's a book of surprising depth and sophistication. I feel like I need to read it again to catch everything!
