Fantasy and Science Fiction for Children and Teens
Description:On April 8, at 3:38 PM, time stops, leaving only a few children who are for some reason immune to the effect and able to move around, while the rest of the world is frozen in time. One of those children is Max Quick, an orphan who lives a pretty dismal life in an orphanage. But Max soon discovers that there is more to him than meets the eye, and along with several other children he meets along the way, he is swept up into a dizzying adventure involving magic books, visitors from another planet, ancient Sumerian mythology, and the very nature of time and space.

Mom's Review:The Pocket and the Pendant is a curious, eclectic, and utterly fascinating book. It blends Sumerian mythology with space travel, quantum physics with Jungian psychology, and mixes it all up in an exciting tale that drives along quickly to the end. It'll make your head spin and leave you wanting more. I can't wait for the next book.
