The book starts off a little slow, and if, like me, you haven't read the first series, it's a little confusing at first trying to keep all the cats and clans and customs straight. But once the story gets going, there's plenty of adventure and excitement and surprises in store. In spite of the similarity of names, the characters are distinct and well-defined, and real growth occurs as they travel together and learn to become a team instead of four separate clans. By the end of the book I became very attached to the heroes and can't wait to read the next book and find out what's in store. Fans of the first Warriors series are sure to enjoy this one, and even those who haven't read the first series can enjoy this one.
