David's rating: 4.5 wands
David's Review:good book! this book has many kinks and though it is a little slow into the action, it will leave readers astounded!
Mom's rating: 4.0 wands Mom's Review:Fans of Cornelia Funke looking for another book as rich as The Thief Lord and Inkheart will probably be disappointed: this is a much simpler story. It's perfect, though, for younger children or those who are highly sensitive. Dragon Rider is a gentle story with little violence. Even the villian Nettlebrand isn't too scary, and for the most part the characters solve their problems using their wits, instead of fighting. The story is charming and enjoyable, if a little slow paced. Fans of dragons will enjoy it, as will children who are not ready for more intense stories like the Harry Potter books.
