We debated about whether these books should be included on this site. After all, there are no wizards or magic or dragons or any of the normal things that one would expect to find in fantasy, and it definitely isn't science fiction. But, there are enough unbelievable things that happen in the books that they can't be called realistic, which we suppose makes them fantasy. And besides, they're fun books to read and we like them, so we decided to include them.
David was initially a little nervous about reading them. He didn't want to read a book which is supposed to tell such a horrible story. But, truly, the books are not very scary and really are funny and fun to read. There is some death and horrible circumstances, but it's all told in such a tongue in cheek way that most kids realize that they aren't intended to be taken seriously. Once David worked up his courage to give them a try, he loved them and is now a big fan, as am I.
