Fantasy and Science Fiction for Children and Teens
Description:Every year, Mr. Chesney, who is a powerful wizard, sends Pilgrim Parties from their world (which sounds a lot like our world if you read the book). When they come - oops, did I say come, I meant invade! - every year, the world they come into must prepare for sacking of villages, burning of crops - you get the idea. One person must pretend to be Dark Lord. It's sort of like a big play, except that it's real. It happens that this year's Dark Lord is Wizard Derk. Derk is a very unusual wizard, and not altogether in a good way. Many things happen as Derk, and his children, and his animals, face many trials of the tours and being Dark Lord, and attempt to overcome Mr. Chesney once and for all.
David's rating: 4.5 wands
David's Review:Really good book, though I would not suggest it for the youngest children because it does use one bad word and there is a slight amount of violence, though it is not a very intense violence. It's also fairly humorous.
