Well some of my friends were disagreeing about this anyway I think it was the fruit cause they had to have something to base the color off of and like plum is a color to but do you think they named the color plum before the fruit, I don't think so.

I think the colour as well. And then they...named the fruit an orange because they couldn't think of anything else so they named it based on the colour it was (actually I have no idea what they were thinking when they named it but it could have been something similar to that XP).

I have to say the color. The orange color of sunsets, flowers, and changing leaves were most likely not named after the fruit. Wow, whoever named the fruit orange was so creative.

That's funny, I thought it was the color first, too...like, kinda what Daisypaw said. You know, finding a shiny new fruit, thinking, 'Ooh what should we call this?' Not being able to think of anything, and calling it the color it was. But go figure. The world's strange like that xP

this is allot like. What came first the chicken or the egg? if you beleive the earth was created whitch i do then you would say the chicken was created then God made it able to prodouce after its own kind. But people who beleive evreything evolves it is nearly imposible to prove either answer becuas you need eggs for there to be chickens but you need chickens to lay the eggs

I think the fruit would be named first. becuas the color needs to be named after something.
