Freewrites of...epic. (Taking requests)

Starsight's picture

Because she just won't do it herself.*rolls eyes*

Anyways, the other day Soundy did a freewrite of her, me, Lilac, and the Tsubasa crew dropping into the Evangelion world (and from my POV, which I think she did epically awesome at). It's long to explain, and since she won't post it anyways, I'm just gonna give it to you right here and now.XP

Quickwrite

POV: Starsight

"We've arrived at the next world!" Mokona squeaked as it spit us all out in a dog pile, me at the bottom, then landed on Soundstorm's head. Everyone scrambled away from each other and got to their feet, exhausted. "I never thought the Persona world could be that...hectic? Painful?" Soundstorm said.

"What do you expect, putting an evoker to your head and firing it. No wonder it was so controversial," Lilac responded, yawning.

I scanned my surroundings. We were by a city consisting mostly of large buildings. Water surrounded the town on all sides, and there were buildings half sticking out of the water, in complete ruin. What was left of the town looked pretty desolated. We stood by the edge of the water, and I saw a few tanks lining the road a little further in. "Anyone know where we are?" I asked.

Fai, Kurogane, Syaoran, and Lilac shook their heads, but Soundstorm looked concerned. "This looks familiar," she admitted.

"I doubt it's safe here. I mean, we've never been lucky enough to catch a break," Lilac pointed out.

Something caught my eye, and I turned to see a huge dark shadow in the water. I stared for a moment, then asked, "Anybody know what that is...?" Everyone turned to look at the creature, eyes following the shadow. Lilac's jaw dropped.

"May I have your attention. As of 12:30 PM today, a special state of emergency has been declared for the Canto and Chugu regions surrounding the Tokai district. All residents must evacuate to their designated shelters immediately. Repeat: As of 12:30 PM today, a state of emergency has been declared for the Canto and Chugu regions surrounding the Tokai district. All residents must evacuate to their shelters immediately," said a voice from somewhere further into the city.

"Soundy, where are we?" I asked again.

At that moment, a large white hand that vaguely resembled a skeleton shot from the water, and grasped onto a strip of dry land, pushing itself out of the water. The creature was blackish-green, with a white face and no neck to be seen. It had shoulder plates and what looked like ribs sticking from its chest, and a red pulsing orb between those ribs that you could actually see. Did I mention that this creature was huge? I'm talking Godzilla sized, sky scraper sized, the size of the self-esteem that Soundstorm and Lilac lack.

The creature turned and looked directly at us. Beside me, I heard Soundstorm utter the words "%%%%...foo...%%%%..." Then she turned to us and she and Lilac promptly stated the obvious: "EVERYBODY RUN!"

Everybody stopped staring at the creature and fled, as a loud screeching sound was heard from behind us and the sound of the creature emerging from the water could be heard. "Kurogane, before you decide to do anything stupid, not even a nuke can kill that thing. If you turn around to fight it, you will DIE. Don't you dare," Soundstorm hissed.

Kurogane didn’t respond, just shot an irritated look at her.

"Soundy, what is that thing, where are we, and...what the foo is that thing?!" I snapped.

"The redundancy department of redundancy," she said.

"SOUNDY!" Lilac shouted.

"That's an Angel, Starry."

Lilac and Soundstorm exchanged a glance, and Lilac made a cut-throat motion, to which Soundstorm nodded.

"An Angel...?" I asked, giving her a confused look. Before she could elaborate, a loud bang, followed by what felt like a massive earthquake, knocked us all to the ground. I rolled over and saw the creature walking towards us. No one decided to hang around, and we all got back to our feet.

"We're never going to outrun that thing," Fai said, his calmness surprising. I could tell he was right though, a single step from that creature practically covered the distance we'd already made. I heard the sound of cannons and tanks firing as helicopters and jets flew overhead, firing missiles at the so called Angel, but that didn't seem to faze it at all.

It continued on walking, destroying everything in its sight. "Starry-chan, look out!" I heard Fai shout, and I got tackled to the ground, just as a huge red beam of light shot over our heads. We remained on the ground for a while, and judging from the look on Lilac's face, the beam of light was now the same color as my face.

"Look at the lovebirds!" I heard Mokona and Lilac shout. Fai helped me up, before I promptly screamed, "YOU ARE SO DEAD!" and chased her down the street.

"Starry, do you have a driver's license?" Lilac asked as another vibration shook the ground. The sound behind and above us was deafening, because now buildings were being smashed down and power lines were being torn apart.

"I don’t, why?" I asked.

"Forget the license, we can't outrun this thing," Soundstorm growled, and I glanced over at Lilac, who was a short distance in front of me. She was wearing out quickly, as was Soundstorm and so was I, I noticed.

"So what do you want me to do, drive?" I asked her incredulously.

"There's an empty car right over there," Lilac answered, glancing over her shoulder.

I just stared at her. "You're kidding, right?" I asked.

"She's not. Get in the car," Soundstorm said, lightly shoving me towards the car when we reached it. "The military should save us some time. Everyone, get in!" No one complained, but they all looked baffled.

"When we all die, keep that thing away from my funeral!" Lilac said to me.

I was still shocked that my 13 year old friends had just told me to DRIVE A CAR, but that over being killed by a monster. "You've got some explaining to do," I said to them both, before stamping down on the gas and shooting off just as what was left of a jet crashed where the car had been a few moments ago. "So, both of you, explain. Where are we, what is that thing, what's going to happen?” I asked, speeding off. I could see that the creature was vanishing behind us as we drove.

I felt relieved for a moment, but then Lilac, who had the window open, shouted "LEFT!"

Panicked, I grabbed the wheel and jerked it in whichever direction. We turned sharply right, almost spinning off the road and narrowly avoiding getting crushed by yet another fallen jet.

"OTHER LEFT!" Soundstorm and Lilac snapped at the same time. Pulling at the wheel again, the car moved sharply left, slamming everyone in the passenger's seat against each other and Syaoran against the left wall of the car. Getting the car straightened out again, we shot forward as the building behind us fell down.

"Hey, who's that?" Fai asked, pointing out the window. I saw a black haired boy jumping into a car being driven by a girl with long dark blue hair wearing a brown shirt and a black dress.

"That's Shinji...!" Soundstorm said.

"Shinji...this really is..." Lilac sighed.

"Yes, Lilac, this is the Evangelion world. Starry, do you remember what I told you about this place?" she asked.

I slammed on the brakes, a short distance away from the other car. "Yeah, this is the anime where everyone nearly dies, people melt into pools of liquid, the world is being attacked by aliens and the only ones who can save it are a group of mentally scarred and severely dysfunctional 14 year olds," I answered.

"We're so screwed, aren't we?" Syaoran asked.

"Yes," I said with a nod.

"Did you ever watch that anime?" Lilac asked.

"A little bit. Now, I know I've said before that I don't like being bossy and telling you what to do, but everyone, get down and hold onto something for dear life," Soundstorm ordered, then jumped into the back seat and curled into a ball. Everyone exchanged glances and ducked down, unsure of what was about to happen.

"GET DOWN!" screamed the girl from the car over. A muffled cry and a thump was heard, then...something exploded. Before we knew it, the temperature jumped up about 1000 degrees, and then everything was spiraling around us and completely out of control. I heard a crash and I realized it had been the car. Whatever had just happened, it had destroyed the landscape and buildings around us and the resulting shockwave had thrown the car into a pile of rubble. I heard groans as everyone tried to sit up and figure out what had just happened.

"What WAS that?!" Kurogane snapped.

"Nuke. They were trying to destroy the Angel with a nuke," Soundstorm gasped, getting up and poking her head out of the now broken windows.

"That fails?" Lilac asked.

Soundstorm nodded. We watched the flare die away. "So, what do we do now?" I asked.

"Well, we find another car and tail Shinji. He's going to fight that alien, and we should be there to help him," she sighed.

"Or we could just leave before things go horribly wrong?" Syaoran offered.

"Not possible. The pork bun fell unconscious in the explosion," Kurogane grunted.

"Is it okay?!" Lilac asked.

"It should be fine. Come on, let's go steal a car," he grumbled.

I nodded and we all scrambled out of the car rubble, then went to find another car. This wasn't too hard. I'd feel bad about stealing cars later. "I've never driven a car before!" I admitted.

"And with the way you're driving right now, you never will again!" Lilac laughed.

Syaoran was sitting in the front seat beside me, and was touching all of the car buttons to see what they do. "GAH, Syaoran, stop the windshield wipers! Turn the speaker off--OW! Turn the sound down! Syaoran, KNOCK IT OFF," I snapped. Lilac was gigging hysterically in the back seat.

"At this rate, we're gonna die in a car crash long before we can get killed by an Angel," Fai said.

Soundstorm nodded in agreement. Kurogane was attempting to strangle Syaoran while reading a magazine at the same time. "ROAD TRIP! ROAD TRIP!" Lilac began chanting. Fai and Soundstorm joined her, and I even started chanting for a while, before abruptly cutting off and laughing, "I never wanna go on a road trip with you guys!" The only reason I knew where we were going was because I was tailing the car Shinji was in.

"Is there anything else we need to know about, Ms. Know-It-All?" Kurogane asked irritably.

"...Ming is the guardian rabbit of the spirit world?" Lilac offered.

"Rosebud is the sled?" Soundstorm added.

"Rosebud's the sled? That's weird," Syaoran said. Then we all burst out laughing.

"Seriously, everyone, stop, I can't concentrate," I admitted, trying not to dissolve into a fit of giggles at the wheel of the car. Thankfully, everyone fell silent, and Kurogane grunted, content, kicking back and reading his magazine.

The ride was pretty silent from there. Shinji and the woman got out of the car when they reached a large building. Shinji was reading a book with the word "NERV" written on the cover. "NERV is the company that created the EVA, right?" Lilac asked Soundstorm. She nodded and motioned for us to follow her.

"Any idea where we're going?" Fai asked.

"Not really," she admitted.

We all followed her anyway. We stopped when we reached the edge of a large metal platform. "So, what's gonna happen, Soundy-san?" Syaoran asked.

"Well, let's see...Shinji's almost going to have his butt kicked while piloting a giant mech, and then he's gonna win."

"Then why are we here?"

"Well, Mokona's unconscious. Why wouldn't we want to watch a fight between a mecha and an alien?" Soundstorm asked.

We all remained silent.

"Kidding. Sort of. The creature's going to put up an AT field. We're here because we can get through it without any problems. And we can help tear the AT field down. Plus, I know its weak point, wouldn't hurt to help fight, except when it does."

At that, the platform split open, and a giant purple mech rose from the floor. "Heh, cool," I said, staring at the mech. It took about 3 steps forward, then fell over. Despite how serious the situation was, I couldn't help but giggle. "Um...how completely screwed is this kid?" I asked.

"Not as much as you think," Soundstorm responded.

"Are we finally going to be able to fight?" Kurogane asked.

"Yeah. In case you didn't guess, that red crystal is the weak point. Aim for there."

"Oh, and...um...try not to get hit or caught. At all. Please," Lilac said.

I thought about it for a moment. If someone were to simply get punched in the face by this giant alien...

The alien stepped forward and picked up the purple mech, then shot a beam straight through its head, causing it to go flying into a building. I stared, and I heard someone gasp. I couldn't tell who, though. Lilac unfurled her wings, glaring at the alien. A beam of moonlight hit me, and before I could stop myself, I let out a howl, fur bursting from my skin as I underwent the typical werewolf transformation. The howl caught the attention of the Angel, which turned to look at the group. Soundstorm unfurled her wings too, and her claws. Winged dog, winged cat, werewolf. How fitting.

"Just so you know, everyone, keep it distracted. Only EVAs can beat them, but we can distract it, maybe even hurt it."

"Are you serious? A nuke can't hurt it but we can?!"

"No, no, the nuke hurt it and put it off for about an hour or so. Which is why Shinji, that girl who's name I can't remember, and us were able to get here without being killed. It just took a while to heal. Now, tip of advice. DUCK."

We all ducked, and a red beam flew right over our head. Beside us, the giant purple mech got to its feet, and let out an ear piercing roar. I covered my ears. Times like this, being a werewolf really sucks.

"Keep close to the Angel, so that when the AT field comes up, we can still fight," Lilac advised. Everyone nodded and ran towards it, beside the mecha. The two giants exchanged blows for a while before the Angel got punched in the face, and the mecha was shoved backwards then blocked out with an AT field.

"Our turn," Kurogane said, smirking. Lilac grabbed me and Soundstorm grabbed Kurogane, then both flew to eye level with the Angel. The mech was trying to break the AT field but didn't seem to be having any luck. We all exchanged a glance and nodded.

"Hama Ryu-O-Jin!" Kurogane shouted, and a large light blue dragon shot from the edge of his sword.

"Reitai Shurai!" Lilac and Syaoran both said, both channeling energy through Lilac's sword so a bolt of lightning shot from it. Neither Soundy or I said anything, but focusing on the energy of my Kudan, I shot a beam of ice from my mouth, aiming for the crystal on its chest. A blast of fire shot from Soundy's hands.

The combined attacks all struck the creature's core before it could move out of the way, which was thanks to Fai, who had temporarily stunned it with a spell. The Angel went flying backwards, a few ribs snapped, and the AT field weakened. I don't know for how long, but it was for long enough for Shinji to tear through the AT field and attack the alien head on. The fight didn't last much longer. Shinji snapped off one of the already damaged ribs and stabbed it through the Angel's core.

"Well that was...fun," Lilac said.

"Not done yet. We need shield," Soundstorm hissed. Fai whistled, creating a protective barrier around us all. We all placed our hands against the barrier, reinforcing it so that whatever followed didn't shatter it. "The Angel's gonna self destruct in an explosion as powerful as the nuke in about 3 seconds," Soundstorm informed us.

"You need to start telling us these kind of things beforehand," Kurogane growled, and then the Angel, which had shape shifted into a weird blob and attached itself to the mecha, exploded.

The resulting explosion made it hard not to lose focus and drop the barrier, but luckily, no one did. Needless to say, we were all exhausted and the after affects had resulted in us being surrounded by flames and rubble. Soundstorm and Lilac kept us from lighting on fire and I cooled down the area around us so no one overheated. We ran towards Shinji, who was leaving the battlefield behind.

We followed him through the flames as they closed in behind us. The helmet on the mecha split in half, and revealed the 14 year old kid sitting at the pilots seat. He didn't look harmed but was clearly shaken and confused. He then saw something we didn't, screamed, and blacked out. We exchanged glances, confused, then ran up the mecha and took him from the machine which had collapsed to the ground as soon as he had fallen unconscious. "Let's get him to the retrieval team," Fai said, and handed the unconscious boy to Kurogane. Lilac and Soundy folded away their wings, and we ran towards the sounds of sirens. We handed Shinji to the nearest NERV Retrieval squad member, then ran away before any questions were asked.

We eventually began walking along the coast again, not where we'd started, but it looked equally as depressing. "That should be the last Angel here for a week or so at least," Soundstorm said, gasping for breath.

A quiet groan came from Fai's pocket, and Mokona peeked out from where it had been laying, unconscious. "What happened?" it asked, dazed.

"A lot," we all said at the same time. "Let's get out of here," Syaoran said.

Large white wings snapped from Mokona’s back, and a disk appeared under our feet. "Will Shinji and everyone else end up okay?" I asked, ears twitching.

Soundstorm shook her head and Lilac shrugged. "Up for viewer interpretation. Needless to say, it gets worse. But...I don't know, we can only hope that it does turn out alright," Soundstorm said.

"Either everyone dies or everyone lives. We're not going to stay around to find out," Lilac finished.

I nodded, and looked behind me as Mokona began to inhale us all. Despite what had just happened, it looked peaceful now. I didn't know what happened in the end, but I hoped for the best possible for everyone.

So. Today we were talking a little bit about it, and she made the mistake of saying the following:

Sao. As stated, Soundy's willing to take requests for these freewrites. She asks that you please specify who you want with you, so if there are any fellow Wandies you want in your group and/or fictional characters let her know. Also what world you want to go to (in this case it was the Evangelion world). I believe that's it unless she comes up with something else later.XP
