Links & things to look at (in process) ADDED: German New Prophecy covers

Great piece on CBS Sunday Morning today about book covers. I immediately saw it as another potential avenue for the artists here to earn a living. Seems like it would be fun to design book covers if you had a talent for that sort of thing.

The program link is not up yet (well, it might be now), but it will appear at this CBS Sunday Morning link:

I was going to add more suggestions of things to look at, but my day has been overwhelming & I still have lots to do.

A photograph of Earth from outside the solar system – taken by the Voyager spacecraft. We are VERY tiny even from that close up (relatively speaking).
About half way down the linked page there are some reflections by Carl Sagan on our pale blue dot that I liked very much.

It's called Rants and Ramblings on Life as a Literary Agent & here are a couple of amusing quotes from it today -

Next to the defeated politician, the writer is the most vocal and inventive griper on earth. He sees hardship and unfairness wherever he looks. His agent doesn’t love him (enough). The blank sheet of paper is an enemy. The publisher is a cheapskate. The critic is a philistine. The public doesn’t understand him. His wife doesn’t understand him. The bartender doesn’t understand him.
~PETER MAYLE

Now, before you get too mad at me...

My advice on dealing with publishers: Let your agent do it. Agents are more important than publishers. Agents are more important than anyone. Which brings me to my advice on dealing with agents. You can't. They won't speak to you. They’re too important.
~P.J. O’ROURKE
