Privacy Policy

Wands and Worlds is committed to privacy for all adults and children. We consider privacy to be a sacred trust. My pledge to you, from one parent to another, is that we will NEVER sell, give away, rent, loan, or otherwise distribute your information or your child's information.

There are two conditions under which we may transfer your information to a third party:

We may release information to law enforcement officials if required to do so as part of an ongoing investigation.
In the event that the Wands and Worlds web site is purchased by a third party, we will transfer the site in its entirety, including all membership records, to the new owners. If that happens, we will contact all members in advance and give them the opportunity to remove their information before the transfer.

Under no other circumstances will we transfer personal information to anyone outside of Wands and Worlds!

Information collected

We have a form on the web site for the purpose of sending us a message. This form asks for name, email address, and optional phone number as well as a message to send. We use this information to respond to the inquiry and then discard the information. Email addresses entered into this form are not kept in any database or added to any mailing list.

The Wands and Worlds Community is a premium section of Wands and Worlds. Much of the community is open for anyone to read, but some areas and privileges are private for paid members only. Joining the Wands and Worlds Community to gain access to the private areas requires payment of a membership fee through Paypal. We consider payment of the fee to be proof of parental consent for children under 13, since Paypal's terms require account holders to be 18 or older. Payment may also be made by check; such payment must be accompanied by a registration form which includes parental permission for children under 13.

Registering with the Community area requires providing an email address, which is required for password verification in the event of a lost password. The email address is used for occasional mailings keeping members updated on the latest changes, additions, and special events such as author chats. Registered members may provide an optional name; children are encouraged to provide a first name only. City, state, and zip code may also be optionally entered by members; such information is used for demographic purposes only. The forums and chat rooms are monitored, and children are discouraged from sharing any personally identifying information with other members.

Some links on Wands and Worlds take the visitor to external web sites; these sites are not governed by Wands and Worlds privacy policy. We attempt to link only to reputable, honest sites, but due to the constantly changing nature of the web, we can make no guarantees. We recommend that you check the privacy policy for any site you visit.
